Holiday Experience in Tenerife: The biggest Canary Island

The Canaries are a chain of volcanic islands named as Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, La Palma, El Hierro and Tenerife. Tenerife is the largest of the seven Canary Islands, located in the Atlantic Ocean, west of North Africa. When you look from above or to a satellite view, what you notice is a volcanic peak on the southern side of the island. This precious sight belongs to Mountain Teide, which is the highest peak of Canaries and Spain.

Tenerife has shaped over a couple of eruptions, and the last one occurred at the beginning of 20th century. A formerly, Teide was in the 15th century, and Christopher Columbus reported in his travel journal about seeing a great fire coming from Orotava Valley when he was on his way to discover the new word in 1492. A look-back to Valencia Part 2: City of Arts and Sciences

Valencia is a very beautiful city with impressive architecture. In Valencia you can experience history and modernism as you wander to different side of the city…History is undoubtedly well-preserved in the centre of Valencia (See the previous post about the Historical Part of Valencia). 

As you walk away from the city centre you will start seeing beautiful examples of modern architecture…There you also see The City of Arts and Sciences (La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias) which is considered as the modern face of Valencia. Very impressive building complex which definitely deserves visitors attention.

The City of Arts and Sciences (La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias):

The City of Arts and Sciences is one of the most important touristic attraction in Valencia. It started being constructed in 1996 and completed in 1998 over the old river bed of Turia. Traveling to Spain is like going to paradise for me, I cheer up every time I visit there. Maybe it is because I can find everything that I like in Spain… So far I have already been to Madrid and Barcelona, and recently Valencia. I enjoyed all the cities but I think Valencia is special because it offers many great things all in one place. In Valencia you can experience history, art, delight, warm and healthy Mediterranean life at the same time…I am especially impressed by the traces of history when wandering around the city.
